Week 2, Day 5
Week 2 Theme:
What Parenting Is
Day 5 Point:
When-Then
If you really want your children to understand that life is good then you need to be an example. It’s easy to say life is good when things go well, therefore it doesn’t mean anything.
If you want your children to not go into a depression when their doll breaks or bicycle loses a wheel, then you need to have the same attitude when you get a dent in the car or stain in the furniture.
Action Point:
Don’t play the “When-Then Game.” Never say, hint or even think “WHEN I get the car/promotion/house/date THEN I will be happy.”
Life is good now.
Those things might make life better… might. But your attitude should be that life is good – now!
